Sleeping rough

If you find yourself sleeping rough, or without a bed for the night, or you’re concerned about someone who may be rough sleeping in Cheshire West & Chester call our Outreach team 24/7 on 0300 123 2442. People who sleep rough may not know about the support that is available to them.

Rough sleeping is the most visible form of homelessness. It is dangerous and seriously detrimental to a person’s physical and mental health.

People who sleep rough may be seen in shop doorways, in bus shelters, in car parks and in other public places but often people will sleep rough out of sight, bedding down at different times of the day or night, moving from place to place.

Accurate location information is needed about the location, it can be extremely difficult to find the person - people tend to sleep in quieter locations, not exposed ones. People usually sleep at night and the outreach teams usually operate during this time. If someone is seen during the day, pass on our details or signpost to our hubs.
